Hairdressing Graduate Level 4 - New Zealand Certificate in Hairdressing (Emerging Stylist) (Level 4) 

Course Outline:

The course has theory and practical components. Our training is delivered alongside a Tutor/Senior Hairdresser in a commercial salon environment (practical) and face to face in the classroom (theory). This is an exciting programme which includes foiling workshops, cutting workshops and designer cut & colour workshops to extend your creativity and expand your knowledge on from unit standards. This allows for assessment in authentic working conditions. 

Optional Extra: Being involved in Regional Hairdressing Competitions, Editorial Photographic competitions 

Course Criteria:

  • Completed Enrollment form
  • Birth Certificate or passport
  • Record of Learning
  • Level 1, 2 & 50% of Level 3 unit standards in hairdressing completed

NZ Certificate in Hairdressing (Emerging Stylist)  (Level 4)

This is a 40 week study programme with Level 3 & 4 Hairdressing skills. 

We encourage parents to accompany the prospective student to the interview as the course is very comprehensive and family support is important for students’ success.

We have a fully equipped salon that runs commercially for authentic assessment situations. Students nearer the end of the programme will be offered work experience if required.

The costs of training may change per intake and can be quoted when applying.

2017 Course costs $6,630.00

Equipment kits are extra to course costs.

2017 Equipment costs $1,280.00 (note individual equipment lists may be required for each student if you come from another provider)

What you need:

Equipment list is a compulsory component of the course, includes the necessary hairdressing tools. Uniform is Black & White (professional at all times). This can be assisted with through course related costs at Study link.

Career Opportunities:

As the director I take it upon myself and use my contacts within the industry to source out part time jobs, or work experience within the Manawatu, and further a field if necessary, for students towards the end of the course with the objective that the salon will offer you a position (intermediate/senior) to continue your training to sit you two final industry unit standards. We have an 95% job success for students completing the programme to date. Hard working students with excellent attendance, attitude and skill will in fact get the best jobs. It’s all about attitude!

Intakes:

We have two Intakes per year with our Graduate Course

  • 30 January 2017 to 08 December 2017
  • 25 July 2017 to 06 July 2018

Or Intakes can be any time throughout the year on fitting all the necessary entry requirements

The course runs from Tuesday through Friday 9.00am to 4:00pm late night Thursday till 7:30pm (compulsory)

Course holiday breaks are two weeks of the National Primary School holiday. NB: October Holidays all sites only has one week. Plus we have a 5 week Christmas and New Year break.

Pre Requisites:

Students must have successfully completed all Level 1, 2 & 50% of Level 3 Hairdressing unit standards and/or NZ Certificate in Hairdressing (Salon support) (Level 3) before attempting the NZ Certificate in Hairdressing (Emerging Stylist) (Level 4).
